When members of a New Mexico family received a bag of personal effects belonging to their late grandmother from a funeral home, they noticed a foul odor coming from the bag. Upon opening the bag given to them from the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory in the Espanola Valley on the day after the internment, they made a shocking discovery – their grandmother's brain was in the bag along with her personal effects. The family is suing, but Johnny DeVargas, the owner of the funeral home, has stated that the fault does not lie with the funeral home, but with with another entity in Utah where the woman died in September.
Today our panel discusses if the family has a right to sue over this situation. After reading the opinions of Scott, Shaun, and Art have your say by leaving a comment.
