Update: Underwear Bomber, Teacher's Aide Nude Photo Scandal

Beginning this week, each Saturday I will update stories discussed earlier in the week at AmericanCurrents.com.

On Monday, our contributors discussed if they feel less safe about air travel since the attempted terror attack on Christmas Day.

Terror suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab appeared in a Detroit court on Friday, where a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf to charges he attempted to blow up a plane over the skies of Detroit on December 25. Abdulmutallab faces six charges including the attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction. On Thursday President Barack Obama stated that “the buck stops here” in regard to national security, taking responsibility over the breakdown of security that led to Adbulmatullab's attempted terror attack. Obama promised an increase of air marshals on flights and other stronger security measures.

Thursday's topic was the teacher's aide who was involved in a scandal after a nude photo of her that was stored on her cellphone was circulated among students in the school where she is employed.

Later on Thursday, Bangor Area School District board member Ron Angle confirmed the aide's resignation was accepted after she was asked her to step down on Wednesday. Angle said the aide left her phone unattended at a social function outside of school when someone found the phone, and in turn saw the photo and forwarded it to others.

Coming up this week on AmericanCurrents.com, we'll discuss a shocking new report about the accuracy of calorie counts of meals from restaurant chains and frozen foods, and controversial new airport scanners. Tomorrow, we'll discuss the new late night TV ratings war that has NBC juggling Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien.

  1. There is more to the teacher story than meets the eye. The story is local news where I live and one station reports her phone was stolen the pic was sent out without her knowing and another says she sent the pic to her boyfriend who has a brother that goes to the school he found it and sent it all his friends.
