Did the Health Care Summit Accomplish Anything? Nikki Lorenzini

This health care bill seems like its been going in circles, with one thing we can all agree on: healthcare needs to get fixed. Elected officials have met how many times, and nothing has been figured out yet. Ideas get shot down, and we're left scratching our heads to wonder what is going to happen next.

So far, it does seem like this was a waste of time. Like I said, they're going in circles. Wouldn't it be easy to take into consideration what the Republicans want to change, and possibly work from there? Or do you think that the Republicans are just not agreeing just for the fact of not agreeing? Or are they really seeing something that do not believe shouldn't be passed? How about actually taking into consideration what the Dems have to say? Sure, not everything that they agree on will work (really, do all of the Democrats agree on it, or are they just ready to pass it and get it over with?). What is so hard with them meeting in the middle somewhere?

I'm sure that the two parties agree on some points. So why can't they use the points that they agree on, and use that as a jumping off point, and actually discuss what they don't agree on and work from there? Is that too much to ask?
