NBC Late Night Battle

NBC made a bold move last year when they decided to replace five hours of scripted television programming with a prime time talk show hosted by Jay Leno. Leno, who was very popular as the host of The Tonight Show, seemed like a logical choice to boost sagging ratings for the network. Now, just a little more than three months into the new season, NBC confirmed yesterday that The Jay Leno Show as we know it will end it's run after the Winter Olympics begin on February 12. NBC wants to send Leno back to late night in a half hour format, bumping The Tonight Show with it's new host Conan O'Brien to the midnight time slot – marking the first time change in the show's fifty-five year history. While some Leno fans are looking forward to having the comic back in his familiar time slot, many of Conan O'Brien's fans feel he is the odd-man-out. NBC has not confirmed their new late night schedule, but is expected to make an announcement before the start of the Winter Olympics.

Today we welcome Roseanne Frangione as a full time contributor to AmericanCurrents.com. She, along with Ryan, Art, Sasha and Jeff offer their opinion on the changes at NBC. After reading their thoughts, join the conversation by leaving a comment.
