    Perhaps "don't ask don't tell" exists to avoid a prison mentality in the military. Why is homosexual activity in jail among otherwise straight men, pardoned and accepted? Because they're away for months, sometimes years and that maybe that the most convenient way to satisfy sexual urges. Weird, I know trust me, but think about it
