Toyota's Tarnished Image: Nikki Lorenzini

Last week my company’s lawyer told me about how his Bosch dish washer caught on fire only to find out that there was a recall on his model. There were 50 other dishwashers that caught on fire which led to the recall. All this to say, why did it have to take 2,000 complaints for Toyota to fix this problem? And to blame it on a floor mat? Seriously.

Okay, lets say that they originally thought it was a car mat. Did it really need to have 2000 complaints until something was done? Did they really do enough testing to really say it was the floor mats? Does that even seem feasible? Floor mats. And why does it always take 4 people dying before something gets fixed?

Do I think that Toyota waited to long? Yes. Do I think they will rebound? Yes. People are usually freakishly loyal to car brands. Eventually this will pass.
